This Antique Pewter Teapot is Georgian 4th made by James Dixon & Son of Sheffield.    It is mounted on oak and sanded to show off the grain, we have not stained or varnished the timber as we believe the timber will look better as it weathers.  However, if you wish to add a coat of varnish you can but the smell may put the birds off for a while.

This Teapot is an ideal shape for a bird feeder, or planter, if used as a planter you would leave the spout open for drainage.  As a feeder before putting up block the spout to prevent the seed from running out, to do this I normally put gaffer tape over the inside opening of the spout.

We have researched the teapot and then write the results on the back.  The back  reads.

George 4th Pewter Teapot stamped "James Dixon & Son"  This is an early piece by Dixon dating to c 1828.  James Dixon was based in Sheffield, he was one of the drivers of the industrial revolution.

We have mounted a George 4th penny relevant to the age of the teapot on the back timber below the teapot.

As well as making an excellent bird feeder  or planter it will make a unique stunning feature / talking point for your garden.

The pot is 10cm high excluding the lid, 17cm wide and 26cm from handle to spout.  Mounted the max length is 44cm, max width 19cm and depth 23cm.

This Antique Pewter Teapot bird feeder \ planter  is £65 + £6.36 postage which will be added at checkout.  How ever if you are local to the York area, or able to collect from one of the shows / markets we are attending in November or December message us before you buy as we maybe able to avoid the postage.

Should we be sold out of this pewter coffee pot please be aware that we have lots of copper and pewter kettles and teapots in stock that we do not put on the website as they tend to sell quickly at shows. Check our list of shows and markets we will be doing and pop along and see our full range.
