Collection: Teacup Bird Feeder
The Teacup Bird Feeder allows the little birds to feed, and prevents the bigger birds such as starlings, pigeons, crows etc from dominating the food. The tea cup is filled with a mixture of seed and a small amount of lard that binds the seed together and keeps it in the cup. smaller birds such as sparrows, finches, blue tits etc can land on the saucer but bigger birds get tipped off and soon learn not to bother at this feeder.
We do NOT glue the cup to the saucer as what ever glue you use it does not last. We drill and bolt them together and found this method to be very successful, the cup and saucer are also frost proof and can stay outside all year round. Ours have been outside now for over 3 years in all weather. We hang them from trees, bird feeders and brackets, the main thing is to ensure it hangs freely and will not swing and catch a wall post or similar thing that may break it, if it is likely to just shorten the ribbon (which has a high nylon content so it wont rot.) the teacup is easy to refill and comes with instructions.
