This Antique Copper Kettle is late Victorian.  It is mounted on oak and sanded to show off the grain, we have not stained or varnished the timber as we believe the timber will look better as it weathers.  However, if you wish to add a coat of varnish you can but the smell may put the birds off for a while.

This Kettle can be used as a nest box or a bird feeder, if using as a nest box this one would be suitable for small open fronted nesting birds such as Robins, Wrens, Finches, Starlings, and Black Birds and Thrushes, and leave the spout open for drainage.  As a feeder before putting up block the spout to prevent the seed from running out, to do this I normally put gaffer tape over the inside opening of the spout.

We mount a coin relevant to the age of the kettle on the back timber and this one has a  late Victorian penny.

As well as making an excellent nest box or bird feeder it will make a unique stunning feature / talking point for your garden.

The cost of this copper  kettle bird feeder / nest boxes £65 + postage of £8.98 which will be added at checkout.  If your local to the York area message us before purchasing as we maybe able to deliver it ourselves (social distancing) and save you postage.

The size of the kettle is 21cm high including the handle, 16cm wide and 24cm from back to spout.  The overall mounted size is 62cm, width 21cm and max depth 25cm.  All measurements are approximate.

Should we be sold out of this kettle please be aware that we have lots of copper and pewter kettles and teapots in stock that we do not put on the website as they tend to sell quickly at shows. If you contact us we can send you pictures and prices of ones we have in stock.
